In another not-so-surprising diatribe, we see even more negativity and bashing in regards to Tom Osborne. Trainwreck, the admin over at the bigredboard had the following to say:
I resent Osborne's lying, his hypocrisy, and his incompetence. I resented them before he became AD, and I resent them now. I resent the fact that he spent four years keeping his distance from the program because he was butthurt about Soich getting fired. His first coaching search was confined to coaches whose offices were in the same hallway as his, and even then he found the third-best candidate. His second search was no search at all, and I resent that we have wasted millions of dollars on his bid for revenge firings only to end up with a lackluster staff that wouldn't pass muster at most mid-major schools.
Gee trainwreck, a little jealous that someone else might be trying to corner the market on lying, hypocrisy, and incompetence? Try asking him for specific examples. You won't get any. A lackluster staff? So will you discontinue bigredboard then and support some other team? Perhaps a chess club or a boy scout troop?

Husker Hypocrites
One just needs to check the antics of Bigredboard to see what the text book definition of hypocrite is. They spent years defending Steve Pederson and Bill Callahan no matter what the blunders were, and they raked anyone over the coals who didn't unconditionally support NU. Well, now that Tom Osborne is back, BRB members sound exactly like those they ripped on.
These talking points below come from two charter members of the Tradition Coalition, and make for great reading. I'd like to add to point #3 that perhaps Blankman should stick to watching professional wrestling.
#1 - According to coaches of all programs and staff members throughout the athletic department, Tom is doing a fantastic job as AD. Would you like to point out some specific areas where Tom has failed since taking the job? No, I'm guessing you would rather speak in rediculous generalities, with absolutely no proof to support your stance. It better fits your agenda.
#2 - Blah, blah, blah. I think when given the choice, I will take Tom's word on the merits of the walkon program over Eisenhart and Rice. He has just slightly more experience and knowledge in the topic. See #3 to better understand why the walk on program IS important to the success of Nebraska.
#3 - Blankman, all you are trying to create here is a strawman. You say yourself that you don't lend much credence to the rankings. That's all many others are saying. Recruiting is important to the success of the program. Tom knows this, as does Bo and his staff. But, they also know (as apparently you don't) that there are some good quality players here in state. Players that, given the choice, would rather take a walkon shot at being Husker than going elsewhere. Players that are deeply invested in the Huskers, as they are the team they have dreamed about playing for since their youth. Players that, given a chance, will give their all for the team.While Nebraska has never relied on West Point and Broken Bow for their star players, they have relied on towns like Duncan, Ponca, Plainview, Hyannis, Pierce, Fremont, Battle Creek, Wausa, St. Edward, Tecumseh, Burr, Wood River, Funk, Norfolk, Columbus, Brainard, Monroe...well, I could go on and on. Perhaps, Blankboy, you should take the time to actually review the history of Nebraska football and see where some of our best players actually called home.
#4 - Strawman part deux. I think I have yet to see ANYONE state that we should only recruit players from Nebraska. And, if hearing the word Nebraska bothers you so much, maybe you should move across the river to Council Bluffs.

And, the fact that you think that the notion is "complete tripe" shows that you just simply don't get it, and probably never will. "Not the victory but the action, not the goal but the game. In the deed the glory." I seriously think you would rather that quote read, "A win is a win, it doesn't matter how you play the game." Callahan? "One game, one season." Fucking Hillbillies. Throat slash. "Crusty old fuck." He most certainly did not understand the "Nebraska way", same as you.
Fortunately for Nebraska Football, there is only one of you. Unfortunately, there are a few more "fans" like you. And, that is sad.

Bringing a kid who fits your system, understands his role, is willing to work, and eventually pays dividends ON THE FIELD (not in the Rivals rankings) is what makes someone a GREAT recruiter.

These people are my friends and they are REAL Husker fans. The only regret I have in my life is not being in this picture.
I will be tailgating with my friends every home game. If anyone here would like to know what real fun is then come join us September 2nd. The Husker Elvises are always entertaining and we always get a great game of charades going. I have been a Husker fan far longer than many of you have been born so if you want to learn more about our program please drop by. We welcome any age or sex. Everyone's opinions are welcome also. I have looked at both of these sites as a tremedous source of Nebraska Cornhusker information, and felt as if the little war that they have was silly. Huskerpedia is different than Bigredboard, as it allows critical views of the program. Some of those views I consider to be over the top, which is why I felt that bigredboard was a good alternative. A balance.
The thread below contains some extremely disturbing statements, and considering how this same board pulled out an ad, and sent Coach Callahan's secretary flowers, I felt that a public voice of the Huskers (bigredboard) needs to be more responsible. This is why I feel it's important to know what kind of people are representing the Husker fan base, especially when one of the bigredboard fans wishes a slow painful death to the administrator of Huskerpedia and his mother.
Some of it is very offensive, and I apologize for its content, as a Husker fan. The next time Coach Callahan poses for a picture with the members of bigredboard, I think it might be useful to for him to know his audience.
Mr. Pederson and Coach Callahan, please continue the wonderful work you have done with the team and the university, as a whole.

Based on recent conversations between David Max (owner and operator of huskerpedia.com) and members of this board, any '"truce" that might have existed between the two boards is null and void. Mr. Max has made it clear that it is huskerpedia's policy to ban posters just for mentioning this site. Actually, he's made it clear that if you mention this site and he doesn't like you to begin with, then you are banned, but if he likes you and you make negative comments about this site, then you will not be banned. In any case, huskerpedia, or "The Troll" as it is affectionately known to most members of BRB, is in a state of serious decline. Membership is down. Post volume is down. Not only is volume down, but quality left a long time ago. And yet Mr. Max continues to threaten members of this board with lawsuits and other action to put us out of "business" (even though BRB is not a business, as The Troll is). I had a telephone conversation with Mr. Max last week and made it clear that I did not want these kinds of threats and innuendo to be made to our members. I requested that if he had any information of that type to convey, he should do it directly to me. It's a shame that he was not able to respect that simple request. So, as we watch The Troll die its slow and much-deserved death, I think it is only fitting to have a day in its honor. I am hereby proclaiming Friday, January 13 to be "Troll Day". Act appropriately, and happy trolling.

I'll be celebrating Troll day all through the weekend, but will be sure to stop my celebration by Monday, so as not to ruin MLK day for everyone else. and for the record, I can't even count how many former Husker players, and parents/families of current Husker players despise the attitudes and outright attacks that the Troll (or HP, or trollpedia, as they are synonymous according to David Max) allows and even encourages on the current Husker players, coaches, and athletic director. It truly is a disgrace to our fantastic football program and the great fans that support it, and won't allow for this pathetic attitude to define REAL Husker fans. It will be fun watching the Troll as it rots.

Hey Max (as I'm sure lurch n' breed or one of your other henchmen will send you the link to this) - how does it feel that when a large number of Husker fans think about the Husker's great momentum going into '06, you're one of the people that they enjoy knowing it will gnaw at. You're held in more contempt than the most obnoxious of KSU, OU, or UT fans by hundreds of people who wear red on Saturdays. It's a situation of your own making thanks to incompetence and laziness in always taking the easiest way out to mollify the worst elements of your POS board. Enjoy it, loser.
